Day 1: Bangalore – Shravanbelgola – Hassan
- Arrive in Bangalore, where you will be met by our Tour My Himalaya representative.
- Begin your journey to Hassan, renowned for its exquisite temple architecture. The town derives its name from “Haasanamba,” the presiding deity.
- En route to Hassan, explore Shravanabelagola, a significant Jain pilgrimage site. This place witnessed a flourishing period of art and sculpture under the patronage of the Talakad Gangas. The highlight here is the colossal 57-foot monolithic statue of Bhagavan Gomateshwara Bahubali, situated on Vindyagiri Hill. This statue, considered the world’s largest monolithic stone sculpture, rests on a base with inscriptions in Kannada and features the oldest known evidence of Marathi written in the Devanagari script, dating back to 981 AD. The Mahamastakabhisheka, a grand ceremony, takes place here once every twelve years, attracting thousands of devotees.

Day 2: Hassan
- After breakfast, embark on a temple tour of Hassan, a Tour My Himalaya special. Your first stop is the Hasanamba Temple, an 800-year-old shrine dedicated to Amba, also known as Goddess Shakti. Notably, the goddess here is symbolized by an anthill (referred to as “hutta” in Kannada), signifying that Hassanamba is, in fact, Goddess Parvathi. The inner sanctum is opened only once a year for a two-week period during Deepavali and closes three days after Balipadyami. During the temple’s closure, offerings of a lit lamp, two bags of uncooked rice, water, and flowers are placed before the goddess.
- Return to the hotel after your temple tour. The afternoon is free for you to indulge in leisure activities.
- Enjoy another comfortable overnight stay at the hotel, courtesy of Tour My Himalaya, after dinner.
